Massaponax gave up the first goal on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They won by a goal and slipped past the Stafford Indians 2-1. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Massaponax's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Stafford are ranked 143rd).

The win keeps Massaponax at an undefeated 8-0-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those five contests. As for Stafford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
