Basketball Recap: Parshall Braves vs. Westhope/Newburg Sioux
Parshall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 80-69 to the Westhope/Newburg Sioux. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Braves of the 61-48 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.
Leading Westhope/Newburg to victory were Ashley Tabarez and Macy Bryans. Tabarez went 10 for 18 on her way to 27 points in addition to eight boards and seven steals, while Bryans dropped a double-double on 24 points and 16 rebounds. That's the most points Bryans has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Laken Lee, who posted 13 points and three steals.
Parshall's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Westhope/Newburg, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-13.
Parshall does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westhope/Newburg, they will be playing at home against Divide County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
