Basketball Recap: Northside Gets the Win

Coffee came into Friday's game looking for another win against Northside, but Vontrez Quainton wouldn't allow it. The Northside Eagles walked away with a 64-56 victory over the Coffee Trojans on Friday thanks in part to Quainton, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 28 points and six rebounds. Those 28 points gave him a new career-high.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brax Carson, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of I'Kylie Tucker, who made all 5 shots he took to post 13 points.

Northside now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Coffee, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Northside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 77-31 defeat against Warner Robins on the 11th. As for Coffee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 74-36 loss against Lee County on the 11th.
