Baseball Game Preview: Riverside Warriors vs. Capital Cougars

Riverside is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Capital a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Riverside Warriors will be playing at home against the Capital Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Riverside couldn't beat George Washington on Tuesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fourth inning. The Warriors fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 9-8.

Eli Burke was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Aaron George, who earned one RBI and two runs.

Meanwhile, Capital came up short against Spring Valley on Wednesday, falling 16-2.

Riverside's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Capital, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.

Riverside was able to grind out a solid win over Capital in their previous meeting back in March, winning 6-3. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
