Basketball Game Preview: Westside Rebels vs. Western Yell County Wolverines

The Westside Rebels will head out to square off against the Western Yell County Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Westside and 17 for Western Yell County dating back to last season.

Last Tuesday, Westside had to suffer through a 63-25 loss at the hands of Dardanelle. The matchup marked the Rebels' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Western Yell County scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 55-45 to Mulberry. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 95th).

Western Yell County's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Westside, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Westside couldn't quite finish off Western Yell County in their previous meeting back in January and fell 50-47. Can Westside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
