League recap: Perez dominating on the mound for Nazareth

Adolfo Perez was the best pitcher in the league this week. His stat line for the week included two wins and 29 Ks.

Packer Collegiate Institute made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from eigth to sixth place in the league thanks to a 1-1 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Luther fell hardest in the standings, dropping from first all the way to ninth place after going 0-1 in the past week. Berkeley Carroll (5-0, 4-0) is the No. 1 team in the league.

Nazareth's pitching staff dominated this week, allowing only six hits and three walks, both of which led the league. On the season, the Kingsmen have allowed just 48 hits, while striking out 116 batters. Perez leads the Kingsmen with 92 strikeouts in 45 innings.

Nazareth stole 29 bases this week, adding to its league-leading 81 steals on the year. Manager David Derice is giving his players opportunities to steal, and Simeon Crookendale has racked up a team-high 19 stolen bases for the Kingsmen.
