Basketball Recap: Cadott Comes Up Short

Cadott lost against Fall Creek back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cadott Hornets were beaten by the Fall Creek Crickets 57-28. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Crickets are ranked 40th).

Kennedy Nerdrum and Taylor Hager certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Nerdrum went 5-for-9 on her way to 14 points and seven boards, while Hager posted 11 points. That was a full 39.3% of Cadott's points, marking the fifth time in a row Hager has had more than a third of the team's points.

Cadott has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Fall Creek, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cadott will take on Columbus Catholic at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fall Creek, they will challenge Colfax at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
