Volleyball Recap: Mariner's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mariner proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Cape Coral Seahawks 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Tritons, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Mariner had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 16-25, 20-25, 25-19, 25-14, 15-7.

Mariner's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Cape Coral, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mariner will head out to face off against Cypress Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cape Coral, they will venture away from home to challenge Oasis at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
