Basketball Game Preview: Hermon Hawks vs. Mount Desert Island Trojans

Hermon and Mount Desert Island are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Hermon Hawks will welcome the Mount Desert Island Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Saturday, Hermon was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to Caribou. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Vikings are ranked first).

Meanwhile, Mount Desert Island was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-51 heartbreaker at the hands of John Bapst Memorial.

Hermon has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Mount Desert Island, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
