Volleyball Preview: Pearce Meets Plano

The Pearce Mustangs will face off against the Plano Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Pearce came up short against Lake Highlands on Wednesday, falling 3-0.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Pearce scored at least 20 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-22, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Plano entered their game against Coppell on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Wildcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cowboys.

Plano started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final set scores wound up at 22-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-22.

Pearce will need to focus on slowing down Bella Osborn, one of several Plano players who made an impact when they last played. She had 27 digs and five assists. The team also got some help from Maren McCardel, who had 27 assists and six digs.

Plano's defeat dropped their record down to 29-8. As for Pearce, they are now 18-18, having gone 3-2 since their three-game losing streak ended.
