Softball Preview: Justice Wolves vs. Edison Eagles
Justice is 0-10 against Edison since April of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m.
Justice came up short against Annandale two weeks ago, falling 29-2.
Meanwhile, Edison strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against Lewis as they made off with a 22-10 win.
Caitlyn Lankford was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Marley Jackson and Caitlin Brickley did most of the damage at the plate: Jackson went 2-for-3 with six RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Brickley got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those six RBI gave Jackson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Katie Fennell, who went 1-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.
Edison hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lewis struck out 12 times.
Edison's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Justice, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Justice might still be hurting after the 20-3 defeat they got from Edison in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
