Africentric Early College and Norwayne squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Africentric Early College had to settle for second. They took a 49-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Norwayne Bobcats. The Nubians' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Ava Maibach continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Norwayne, going 10-for-20 to rack up 27 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. What's more, Maibach posted three blocks, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Hannah Froelich was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 14 boards.

Africentric Early College's defeat dropped their record down to 20-8. As for Norwayne, the win (which was their 19th in a row) raised their record to 25-3.

Africentric Early College does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Norwayne, they will face off against Portsmouth at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. Portsmouth will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Norwayne surely won't give up without a fight.
