Volleyball Recap: Alysha Benavides Key Part of Team Effort in Bears Win + How To Watch

Lely came into Tuesday's matchup looking for another win against Palmetto Ridge, but Ashlan Neugent wouldn't allow it. The Bears put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday for which the team can thank Neugent, who had 16 digs and two aces. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Palmetto Ridge's got stronger as the match went on, holding Lely to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-20, 25-16.

Palmetto Ridge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alysha Benavides, who had 11 digs. That's the most digs Benavides has posted since back in September of 2024.

The victory got Palmetto Ridge back to even at 9-9. As for Lely, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
