Softball Recap: Sleepy Eye Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sleepy Eye). They put the hurt on the Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds with a sharp 14-4 win on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Indians considering their two-run performance the game before.

Sleepy Eye's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop, they are on a 27-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Sleepy Eye will head out to challenge Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop, they will venture away from home to square off against Lester Prairie at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Thunderbirds surely won't give up without a fight.
