Softball Recap: Six Straight Road Wins for Atrisco Heritage Academy

Atrisco Heritage Academy proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 17) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Albuquerque Bulldogs 4-3. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Melanie MacIas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Atrisco Heritage Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Savannah Lujan, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Atrisco Heritage Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive games.

Atrisco Heritage Academy pushed their record up to 19-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Albuquerque, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-10.

As of now, neither Atrisco Heritage Academy nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
