Volleyball Game Preview: Buhler Crusaders vs. Clay Center Tigers

The Buhler Crusaders will square off against the Clay Center Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The last four games Buhler has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Buhler had taken Salina Central down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end last Saturday. The Crusaders fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1.

Buhler started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-23, 25-17.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Clay Center had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against Rose Hill by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on 24 straight.

Clay Center easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-7.

Clay Center's win bumped their record up to 38-2. As for Buhler, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-22-2 record this season.

Buhler came up short against Clay Center in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
