Soccer Game Preview: Florence vs. Austin Achieve

Florence hasn't had much luck against Austin Achieve recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Florence Buffaloes will challenge the Austin Achieve Polar Bears at 6:00 p.m.

Florence came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Jarrell, falling 3-0. The game was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for the Buffaloes it sure didn't stay that way.

Meanwhile, Austin Achieve came tearing into Tuesday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.4 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Rebels get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Considering the Polar Bears have won eight matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Travis from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Fredy Lozano led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Austin Achieve's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those four games. As for Florence, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.

Florence suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Austin Achieve in their previous meeting back in January. Can Florence avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
