Soccer Recap: River Valley Starts Season with Victory Against Columbus

River Valley took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Columbus Cardinals a 4-0 shutout. The contest was close at halftime, but River Valley turned on the heat in the second half with three goals.

Coming up, River Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Galena/River Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be River Valley's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Columbus, they are taking a road trip to face off against Monroe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
