Baseball Recap: Broadalbin-Perth Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Broadalbin-Perth, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Glens Falls Black Bears on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Black Bears on Wednesday, they had to take a 5-2 defeat.

Blake Shields was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four runs and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.

Broadalbin-Perth was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Broadalbin-Perth's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7. As for Glens Falls, they dropped their record down to 9-6-1 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broadalbin-Perth will take on La Salle Institute at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cadets will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight. As for Glens Falls, they will square off against Schuylerville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Horses' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Black Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
