Baseball Game Preview: Murray County Central Rebels vs. Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Knights

The Murray County Central Rebels will head out on the road to challenge the Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Murray County Central's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Russell-Tyler-Ruthton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Murray County Central's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian hitters got past them. The Rebels came up short against the Flying Dutchmen on Tuesday, falling 13-1. Rebels fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Flying Dutchmen since on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Russell-Tyler-Ruthton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against Minneota on Monday as they made off with a 10-3 victory. That seven run margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.

Chase Christianson was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Eli Determan, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Murray County Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Russell-Tyler-Ruthton, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
