Grand Island entered their tilt with Norris on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Titans. The result was nothing new for the Islanders, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Gabe Ruiz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sam Schroeder, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 11 matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Ruether, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Grand Island hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive games.

Grand Island pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Norris, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.

Coming up, Grand Island will challenge Lincoln Southwest at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Norris, they have already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Lincoln North Star on the 25th.
