Basketball Recap: New Life Christian Academy Comes Up Short

New Life Christian Academy lost against Victory Baptist Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The New Life Christian Academy Lions were outmatched by the Victory Baptist Academy Saints and fell 50-8. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-4.

Victory Baptist Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grace Ward, who posted 16 points and three steals. Ward's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kaydan Mooney, who had 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

New Life Christian Academy's defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Victory Baptist Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

New Life Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Parkersburg Christian at 2:00 p.m. on February 8th. Victory Baptist Academy has already played their next matchup, a 31-28 win against Morgantown Christian Academy on the 1st.
