Soccer Game Preview: Mountain View vs. Durango

The Mountain View Mountain Lions will venture away from home to take on the Durango Demons at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mountain View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4 goals per game this season.

Mountain View will bounce into Wednesday's match after beating Northridge, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Mountain Lions came out on top against the Grizzlies by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mountain View.

McKenna Odorizzi and Haley Nisweinder scored all three of Mountain View's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Meanwhile, Durango had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 3-0 win. Give Durango's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Durango pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six contests. As for Mountain View, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.
