Volleyball Recap: Brookland Falls to Jonesboro in First Game of Season

Brookland had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Jonesboro Hurricane on Monday, falling 3-0. The Bearcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hurricane apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

While Brookland was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-22, 25-15.

Lynley Seyler paced Brookland's offense, picking up eight kills. Seyler got some help from Macie Murray and her 11 assists.

Brookland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Valley View on the 26th. Jonesboro has also already played their next contest (against Paragould), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
