Baseball Recap: Alvirne's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Alvirne extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 4-9 in the process. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Spaulding Red Raiders. That's more bragging rights for the Broncos, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jaxson Polleck and Mikey Bebris did most of the damage at the plate: Polleck went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run, while Bebris went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those two hits gave Polleck a new career-high. Brady Mitchell also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

As for Spaulding, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9-1 record this season. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

On Spaulding's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Spencer, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Another was Brandon Scamman, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
