Basketball Recap: Harmony Area Takes a Loss

Harmony Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the Glendale Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, with their most recent defeat being a 39-38 loss back in January.

Harmony Area lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Bryson Hagens, who posted 13 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Hunter Pearce, who scored 13 points.

Glendale's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joey Kitko led the charge by going 8-for-20 en route to 20 points and seven boards. With that strong performance, Kitko is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Hamilton, who earned nine points and three blocks.

Harmony Area's defeat dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Glendale, their record is now 5-15.

Harmony Area wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-59 win against Curwensville on the 7th. As for Glendale, they have also already played their next game, a 61-56 victory against Ferndale on the 7th.
