The Ignacio Bobcats will take on the Trinidad Miners at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Ignacio is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

Ignacio is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Nucla just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 4-3.

Gabe A put in work no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. A was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Cole W was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run and one double. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sonny F, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Trinidad was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-0 to Pagosa Springs.

Trinidad's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ignacio, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.

Trinidad's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. Ignacio has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Trinidad, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Ignacio keep running through batters, or will the Miners buck the trend?

Everything went Ignacio's way against Trinidad in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Ignacio made off with a 16-7 win. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Miners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
