Soccer Game Preview: Hidden Valley vs. Magna Vista

The Hidden Valley Titans will venture away from home to take on the Magna Vista Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Hidden Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Northside 2-1. Given Hidden Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Northside are ranked 206th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jackson Frewin was the driving force of Hidden Valley's attack as he scored both of Hidden Valley's goals, bringing his season total up to six goals.

Meanwhile, Magna Vista had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.1 goals) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Thursday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Trojans.

Magna Vista pushed their record up to 15-2-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Hidden Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6-2 record this season.

Hidden Valley couldn't quite get it done against Magna Vista in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 4-2. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
