Softball Recap: Lincoln-Way Central Extends Home Winning Streak to 14

Lincoln-Way Central faced Lockport in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Knights were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Porters. The Knights have beaten the Porters the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Porters has come to flipping the script.

The team relied heavily on Teagan Berkshire, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mia Degliomini, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Lincoln-Way Central's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Lockport, they moved to 14-9 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.
