Soccer Game Preview: Making Waves Academy vs. University

The Making Waves Academy Marlins will head out to challenge the University Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Making Waves Academy's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Making Waves Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out San Domenico 3-2.

Meanwhile, University came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.2 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. Devo Johnson had the honor of scoring the game-winner for University.

University's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Making Waves Academy, the win got them back to even at 5-5-3.

Making Waves Academy might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from University in their previous matchup back in December of 2025. Can the Marlins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
