The matchup between Saugus and Northeast Metro RVT on Thursday hardly resembled the 3-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Sachems put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 25-13 win. The Sachems' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Saugus got a massive performance out of Layla DeMonte, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lily Ventre, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Saugus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .604. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Saugus moved to 3-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Northeast Metro RVT, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.
