Basketball Game Preview: Knightdale Knights vs. Corinth Holders Pirates

Knightdale has gone 8-1 against Corinth Holders recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Knightdale Knights will be taking part in a tournament against the Corinth Holders Pirates at 2:30 p.m. Knightdale will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Knightdale saw some tournament action last Saturday. They breezed by Dinwiddie to the tune of 62-33. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 28 points or more this season.

Knightdale found their leader in sophomore Leia Rios, who went 8 for 17 on her way to 21 points. Rios' morning made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Kiyah Moore, who posted seven points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Knightdale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Corinth Holders unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They were beaten by Southeast Raleigh 59-14. The match marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Knightdale's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Corinth Holders, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Knightdale came up short against Corinth Holders in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 45-40. Can Knightdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
