Football Game Preview: Booker T. Washington Wildcats vs. Destin Sharks

The Booker T. Washington Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Destin Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Booker T. Washington 6, Destin 12.2) so any points scored will be well earned.

Booker T. Washington's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Monday. They claimed a resounding 49-0 win over Escambia. That looming 49-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcats yet this season.

Booker T. Washington didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Da'Rieon Gilbert and Namiyah Maldonado. Maldonado is crushing it when it comes to interceptions: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Destin's offense. They had to suffer through a 33-0 loss at the hands of Choctawhatchee. The loss continues a trend for the Sharks in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost three in a row.

The victory (which was Booker T. Washington's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 0.5 points on average over those games. As for Destin, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Things could have been worse for Booker T. Washington, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took an 18-0 loss to Destin in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Booker T. Washington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
