Baseball Recap: Tri-County RVT Gets the Win

Tri-County RVT won the last time they faced Assabet Valley RVT and things went their way on Friday too. The Cougars' pitchers stepped up to hand the Aztecs a 6-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Noah Roche made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Fred Gillett, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Michael Roche also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Tri-County RVT now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Assabet Valley RVT, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Tri-County RVT will square off against Old Colony RVT at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Assabet Valley RVT, they will challenge Blackstone-Millville at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Chargers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
