Howland entered their tilt with Columbiana on Saturday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Clippers. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Sam Gryzelewski looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Luca Fronzaglio, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Deacon Mock also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Howland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Columbiana only posted an OBP of .071.

Howland pushed their record up to 14-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Columbiana, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Howland will challenge Ursuline at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The last four games the Fighting Irish have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Columbiana, they will square off against Lakeview at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
