Southampton waltzed into their contest on Monday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Sussex Central Tigers. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by six runs or more this season.

Adin Brown made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those 16 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Tyler Duke and Kingston Brooks did most of the damage at the plate: Duke went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Brooks got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. That double was Duke's first of the season.

Southampton pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Sussex Central, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7.

As of now, neither Southampton nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
