Preview: Shadow Ridge Stallions vs. Tolleson Wolverines
Shadow Ridge is 8-2 against Tolleson since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Shadow Ridge Stallions will head out on the road to square off against the Tolleson Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Shadow Ridge unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were the victim of a rough 69-45 defeat at the hands of Valley Vista. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Shadow Ridge has suffered against Valley Vista since January 29, 2021.
Shaelyn Anthony put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 15 points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Holub, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Tolleson suffered their biggest loss since November 21, 2023 on Monday. They were outmatched by Valley Vista at home and fell 66-24. Tolleson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-10.
Shadow Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Tolleson, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Shadow Ridge took their win against Tolleson in their previous meeting last Thursday by a conclusive 57-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shadow Ridge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
