Recap: Valley Christian Panthers vs. Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame Knights
After flying high against the Mary Walker Chargers last Friday, the Valley Christian Panthers came back down to earth. Valley Christian took a 50-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Valley Christian of the 47-39 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame found their leader in underclassman Annelise Curran, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 17 steals. Taytem Collins was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds and four blocks.
Valley Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Valley Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Colton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Colton is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games. As for Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame, they will head out on the road to challenge Almira-Coulee-Hartline at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
