Basketball Recap: Audrey Beyer Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Bartram Trail

It's playoff time, and Tocoi Creek had no trouble coming through when it counted. They took down the Bartram Trail Bears 52-37 on Saturday. The Toros haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Tocoi Creek got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Audrey Beyer out in front who posted 25 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Beyer has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabi Iturralde, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 15 points along with five assists and five boards.

Tocoi Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Bartram Trail had strong showings from Miranda Campos, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds, and Esabella Brenneman, who had ten points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Campos a new career-high in boards. London Jackson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Tocoi Creek's record now sits at 17-7. As for Bartram Trail, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-8.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Tocoi Creek will take on Winter Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tocoi Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season. As for Bartram Trail, they will square off against Nease at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bartram Trail also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 51.5 points per game.
