Basketball Game Preview: Crystal Lake Central Tigers vs. Crystal Lake South Gators

Crystal Lake Central hasn't had much luck against Crystal Lake South recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Crystal Lake Central Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Crystal Lake South Gators at 7:30 p.m.

Crystal Lake Central is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Cary-Grove, falling 64-39. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 531st, while the Trojans are ranked 199th).

Meanwhile, Crystal Lake South waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Red Raiders as they made off with a 65-45 win. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Crystal Lake South's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-4. As for Crystal Lake Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-22.

Crystal Lake Central was taken down by Crystal Lake South 74-43 in their previous matchup back in January. Can Crystal Lake Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
