Basketball Recap: Valley Forge Sets Scoring Season-High Against North Olmsted

Valley Forge scored the most points they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 45-38 to the North Olmsted Eagles. The Patriots have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Valley Forge lost, don't look at Lexi Samarin. Despite the final result, she posted 14 points. Gracie Kercher was another key player, putting up eight points.

North Olmsted got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Peyton Johnson out in front who had nine points and eight rebounds. Those nine points gave Johnson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya Capps, who earned nine points along with seven steals and five boards.

Valley Forge's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for North Olmsted, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Valley Forge will venture away from home to square off against Normandy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Olmsted, they will head out to challenge Bay at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Rockets will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
