Chapin had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Spring Valley on Friday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 9-2 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Chapin got a great performance from Tyler Graham as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over six innings pitched. Graham has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Caden Reeves was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one triple. Cambell Todd was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

Chapin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Spring Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chapin will host White Knoll at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Eagles' favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while the Timberwolves have been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road. As for Spring Valley, they will welcome Lugoff-Elgin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
