Baseball Recap: Brevard HEAT Comes Up Short

If Brevard HEAT was feeling good fresh off their 15-0 takedown of The Classical Academy of Sarasota on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Firehawks lost 19-4 to the Seven Rivers Christian Warriors on Saturday.

Brevard HEAT saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Kusky, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Kusky has become a key player for the Firehawks: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-11 otherwise.

Brevard HEAT dropped their record down to 5-12 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Seven Rivers Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brevard HEAT will face off against St. Edward's at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Firehawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Seven Rivers Christian, they will challenge Oak Hall at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
