Volleyball Recap: Crestview Bulldogs vs. Pace Patriots
Crestview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell just short of the Pace Patriots by a score of 3-2. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.
Crestview took Pace into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-21, 25-9, 21-25, 15-10.
Despite the loss, Crestview still got an impressive performance from Kelsey Griffin, who had 22 digs. With that strong performance, Griffin is now averaging an impressive 10.5 digs per game.
Even though they lost, Crestview kept the net locked down and finished the game with 16 blocks. That's the most blocks they've posted since back in September of 2023.
Crestview's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Pace, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.
Crestview will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bay on Saturday. As for Pace, they will head out to take on Navarre at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Navarre is on a four-game streak of home wins, Pace a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
