South Lenoir is 6-1 against Dixon since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Friday. The South Lenoir Blue Devils will venture away from home to  challenge the Dixon Bulldogs  at 5:30  p.m. Both  have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses apiece dating back to last season.
South Lenoir is headed into the  matchup out to prove that what happened against Clinton  on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. South Lenoir was beaten by Clinton 56-14. The Blue Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  34-7.

 Meanwhile, Dixon had to suffer through a   76-32 loss at the hands of Topsail. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings  (they are ranked 414th, while the Pirates are ranked 169th).
 South Lenoir's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Dixon, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
 South Lenoir was able to grind out a solid  win over Dixon in their previous matchup  back in December of 2023, winning  31-24. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Lenoir since the  team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
