Football Recap: Mead Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mead extended their postseason success on Saturday against Pomona. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Pomona Panthers 21-19. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mavericks have posted since September 6th.

Mead didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cale Hansen and Caleb Gough.

Pomona lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ethan Vu, who rushed for 48 yards and two touchdowns. Emmitt Munson was another key player, rushing for 72 yards and one touchdown.

The victory was the third in a row for Mead, bringing their record for this year to 11-1. As for Pomona, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.

Mead has already played their next contest, a 16-14 loss against Thompson Valley on the 7th. Pomona does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
