Rabun County took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They breezed past the White County Warriors to the tune of 42-6. The Wildcats' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Reid Giles went supernova, rushing for 102 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, while also picking up 66 receiving yards. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 66 yards. Ty Truelove was another key player, throwing for 160 yards and one TD.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Rabun County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 273 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 158 rushing yards in ten consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rabun County will welcome Fannin County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for White County, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Habersham Central at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th.
