Basketball Recap: Warner Christian Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Warner Christian Academy can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 35-21 win over the Crooms Academy Panthers. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zoe Fulgencio, who posted nine points. Akilah Manley was another key player, putting up seven points.

Warner Christian Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Crooms Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

After both having extra time off, Warner Christian Academy and First Baptist Christian Academy will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Crooms Academy, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Crooms Academy Panthers take on the Taylor Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
