Basketball Recap: Gavin West's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Grady over Dora

After flying high against San Jon last Thursday, Grady came back down to earth. The Grady Bronchos took a 44-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dora Coyotes. The Bronchos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Coyotes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Grady's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin West, who posted 13 points. Trey Rush was another key player, putting up eight points.

Grady has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for Dora, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-14.

Coming up, Grady will welcome Logan at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Logan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Grady likes a good challenge. As for Dora, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lake Arthur at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dora is facing Lake Arthur at the right time seeing as Lake Arthur is stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
