Basketball Recap: Central Mountain Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

If Midd-West wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Central Mountain, they should've done a better job of containing Hunter Hoy. The Central Mountain Wildcats walked away with a 67-55 victory over the Midd-West Mustangs on Saturday thanks in part to Hoy, who posted 13 points and six steals. Hoy is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Isah Dorman, who had eight points. Those eight points gave him a new career-high.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was D'Zani Coley, who earned 18 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chase Shattuck, who posted ten points.

Central Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Midd-West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Central Mountain and Midd-West could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. Central Mountain (ranked 355th) will meet Forest Hills (ranked 22nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, Midd-West (ranked 660th) will meet Shamokin Area (ranked 38th) at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
